COURSE
RECOGNITION
The
2 Years Full-time MBA programme BIMIT is
recognised by the BPUT.
The course follows a Trimester pattern
consisting of three semesters per year i.e. six
semesters for the entire course.
ADMISSION
CRITERIA
1.
The eligibility for admission to MBA
programme of the University shall be same as the
one decided by AICTE from time to time.
2.
The selection of the students shall be done
on the basis of any one or combination of the
following tests.
•
The Admission Test conducted by the
University, OMAT.
•
The Admission Test conducted by All India
Management Association (MAT)
•
The Admission Test, CAT.
•
The Admission Test, XAT.
•
The Admission Test, ATMA.
Merit
listed candidates shall be called for personal
interview and group discussion.
While the score in Personal Interview and
Group discussion shall be used as go-no-go test
for admission, the score in the Admission Test (OMAT,
MAT etc.) shall be used to rank the candidates for
selection.
3.
The University shall form a committee to
recommend a test structure including the
percentage of candidates to be taken from the
University Level Test/All India Tests.
On approval of the University, an Admission
Committee shall conduct OMAT test and rank the
qualified candidates.
The same committee shall do admission
through Central Counselling/College Level
Counselling.
4.
The Committeee shall provide list of
admitted candidates alongwith the necessary papers
(e.g. Pass Certificate, Marksheet, Rank Card and
Institution etc. with necessary fee) for
University Registration.
5.
Admission shall ordinarily close prior to
the commencement of the instruction in First
Trimester.
6.
No inter-college transfer shall be allowed.
Under extraordinary circumstances however
the University may transfer students from one
constituent/affiliated Institution/College to
another in the same MBA programme at any time
during the continuation of the programme without
assigning any reason for the same.
The college/Institution to which such
candidates are transferred shall have to admit
them and allow them to complete the programme.
COURSE
STRUCTURE
The
course is to be completed in 6 terms. The package
consists of 25 courses designed to provide basic
knowledge of concepts, tools and techniques in
various functional areas and relevant disciplines.
The
8 weeks compulsory training in Industrial and
Business organization follows the first year
course work. This summer project is aimed at
providing exposure to real life working
environment. Students are required to work on
specific, time bound organization related
assignments.
The
second year academic work, spread over three
terms, comprises of some core courses and
electives. These provide students the opportunity
to develop in-depth understanding and
concentration in areas of their special interest.
Objectives
of the MBA course
The
curriculum is designed to impart knowledge and
skills considered essential for managers to
operate successfully in the increasingly dynamic
and complex environment. It sharpens and deepens
the student's understanding at different levels :
•
The individual in the organizational setting.
•
The environmental context of the organization.
•
The dynamics of organizational functioning.
•
The analytical tools and techniques required in
the management of organization effectively.
Thus
it helps the student acquire conceptual and
analytical abilities required for making and
implementing managerial decisions effectively.
