FACULTY
:
The
faculty comprises of commited, proficient and
inter-active professionals each excelling
in his respective fields. Each of them
spend their time not only in teaching but also
assist in development and research.
Developing
academic excellence amongst its students has been
the prime concerned of the faculty.
A student evaluation committee reviews
affairs concerning academic performance and other
aspect of every stduent. The evaluation process
includes assignment, formative and summative exams
held at the end of the year.
The BIMIT faculty members are committed to the personnel &
professional development of their students.
This commitment is experienced not only by
the hours spent in the classroom, but also by
the time devoted to class preparation &
student counselling.
The
Faculty take personal care in building a student's
competence in academics and the self. They also
act as mentors in guiding a student's all-round
development. They influence the student's
behaviour in the improvement of knowledge,
attitude & skill.
The
Faculty of BIMIT comprises of both the Core Faculties and Visiting Faculties
drawn from various Institutes, Organizations and
Industries of repute.
The
Faculties orchestrate classroom instruction, case
study method, discussions etc. urging students to
stretch their imaginations & analytical skills
to reach creative solution & broaden their
understanding of issues. Faculties are accessible
to students beyond classroom & many serve as
advisers to field study groups &
to students conducting individual research
projects since curriculum development, case
writing and research are inseparable elements of
the Institute's mission. Faculty continuously
write new cases
updating and revising existing ones.
The faculty's ongoing involvement with
practising managers ensures that the curriculum is
current & focuses on both contemporary and
future issues.
It
has been acknowledged by students and Alumni of BIMIT
that the faculties of BIMIT
are ideal teachers. Many alumni and students have
identified a few qualities, analysed and
synthesized these and have shown as to how these
illustrate, illumine, instill, inspire and impart
to the students, the true traits of an ideal
teacher, who have self confidence, selflessness,
equanimity, compassion, motivation, gratitude,
communication, leading by example, concern for
students and love. The faculty at BIMIT
are not only ideal teachers but also are genies
and helping. Through their educational experiment,
which is now well known, the faculty's objective
at BIMIT is to make their students ideal leaders,

LIBRARY
:
The
library is automated having around 5000 books,
periodicals on
Management, and Information Technology and other general matters.
It
also subscribes to various magazines, journals
& newspapers.
The library staff
work closely
with students and faculty, offering both
individual and group assistance.
The
library is also a storehouse of a large number of
videotapes covering the course material drawn from
marketing, human resource development, production
& other functional areas which engage the
students intellectually & personally in the
strategic, administrative & ethical
complexities of business decisions.
COMPUTING
FACILITIES :
The
computing facilities include the most modern
up-to-date equipments including the latest PCs.
There are currently
two laboratories for
use by the students.
One
lab operates in the LAN environment while the
other facilitates advanced computing which
consists of all the advanced softwares.
The latter i.e. the second laboratory
houses activities like computer training and
software development.
The
computer centre can accommodate 120 students at a
time, with all latest software used in Financial
Analysis, Quantitative Analysis, Computer
Graphics, World Processing, Data Processing, Data
Base, Business Simulation and Multimedia.
The computers are also linked with 256 KBPS
INTERNET Connectvity and plans to have
International Educational Network (IEN)
facilities.
HOSTEL
:
The
Institute provides hostel facilities to the
student by hiring the buildings. Each student will
be provided reasonably furnished room on sharing
basis for facilitating development of
understanding and mutual help.
To
facilitate comfortable stay and provide a feel
happy environment, the Institute provides
accommodation assistance.
Institute's
Accommodation Officer provides options assistance
in helping student's choice from :

Shared
flats :
Students
can share flats (units) or houses which are rented
through real estate agents.
•
Rented
Rooms :
The
students can rent a furnished room in private
home/hostel.
•
The
Institute is planning to make the programme
residential from next academic session 2005-2006.
