"True
Education provides the learners the experience of
effulgent love."
"A
manager has to be both Great and Good than that he
makes a mark."
Unfolding
the newer approach to awakening an integral
education that would mean "Education for life
and not for mere living". BIMIT, eversince its inception has been making prodigious efforts in
blending modern based education with the valuable
Indian heritage and culture. It exhibits
Educational Integrity through :
#
Spirituality
#
Cultural Festivity.
#
Service Activities.
The
philosophy of education of BIMIT
is based on the appreciation of the need to
provide full scope for the development of body,
mind and heart.
Discipline, duty and adherence to basic
human values, which are the best qualities of
students, are also being observed in various
situations; in the campus and in the hostel or
even during the festivals, study tours and picnic.
Once
in a week after classes at 4:00 P.M. the students,
teachers and staff assemble for Sarvadharma prayer
which
itself is a reminder of the essential unity
of different faiths despite apparent differences
in the details of ritual, worship etc. "A
reverent glory of the essentials of all religions
would be uniquely rewarding as a step towards
harmony between religions long divided …… It
is in the detached atmosphere of an academic
institution that we can study, analyse and
eliminate the prejudices and misunderstandings
which disfigure inter-religious relations."
Sarvadharma
prayer promotes faith and devotion, improves
memory and concentration, sharpens intuition and
instills a humble and spiritual conception of
fatherhood of God and brotherhood of man. Group
singing promotes devotion and reverence, develops
a musical sense and develops harmony of body, mind
and spirit and also helps control outer senses and
further concentration.
It
is firmly believed, by our sages and saints or
even our modern leaders like Mahatma Gandhi,
Vinoba Bhave etc., that prayers and hymns elevate
the mind, illuminate the intellect, sublimate the
senses, purify the heart and awaken
the soul and help in establishing rapport
with ourselves. Tennysone has said: "More
things are wrought by egoism and its evil
consequences."
The
Model of Integral Education of BIMIT
is a total re-orientation which goes to prove the
feasibility of a viable model for a total
reorientation to university level education. At
the operational level, it delineates some of the
salient features which could have great relevance
in the larger context of formal educational
systems. Five of these features are listed below:
(i)
an up-to-date and well balanced curriculum,
meant to avoid stuffing of the brain with
information, but promoting a spirit of enquiry
based on current levels of knowledge,
(ii)
teaching methods imparting the right values
aimed at promoting the learning capabilities and
facilitating total awareness,
(iii)
an examination system which brings out the
best in the students and makes a continuous
assessment of his comprehension instead of making
it a stressful one shot operation,
(iv)
co-curricular and extra-curricular
activities, cultural activities, spiritual
activities service activities and group activities
which promote a team and community spirit instead
of merely stressing individual excellence.
BIMIT’s
Cross Curricular Education Model
With
the Indian technical Education system by &
large devoid of industry interaction &
research initiatives, curriculum rigidly
structured & institutional governance taking
the toil, BIMIT
has taken a quantum leap to provide
cross-curricular learning outputs wherein the
pursuit of the modes of learning & interaction
with research & industry are encouraged.
The-ICRC,
BIMIT’s
Consultancy & Research Wing utilises the
excellent talents & skills of students learnt
during their formal education programme to help
them develop innovative skills in applying
information & management skills in problem
solving in all major Application Areas. The
exposure to which the Research Wing of BIMIT
exposes its students is of immense value
proposition relevant to bridging the slight awry
between classroom & boardroom giving a
hands-on-experience in the Application areas.
The
Trade
School concept of BIMIT prodigiously unites
the multitudinous & fascinating phenomena of education’s
role in industry & industry’s role in
education by systematically treating Education
& Industry to come together forging curricular
exchange on Project to Project basis, Institution
to Institution basis & on educational &
personnel basis between Industry & Education.
ADORE,
BIMIT’s
Centre of Education-Industry Interface enables
